On Saturday, April 13th, Kamika Speaks will be hosting Write on Time, Letters Crafted with Care, a letter writing experience that will allow the community to send encouraging words of hope, inspiration and love to our incarcerated youth, adults and loved ones.

This experience will lead into the We’ve Been Sentenced documentary premiere on Saturday, May 18th at the Guild Theatre, sponsored by ACE Resource Network, the team behind the first national awareness campaign addressing the impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Additionally, both events will bring awareness to the community about foster care and the impact of incarceration on families.

If you know someone who is incarcerated and you’d like to send them a letter, join us and we’ll provide you with a stamped envelope that you can take home and send when you’re ready to have it mailed. However, you do not need to know anyone currently incarcerated to participate and the letters will be sent to various institutions in Northern California.

This event is dedicated to the community; if anyone under 18 years of age attends, they must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of time the minor is in attendance.

We’re appreciative to 916 Ink for allowing us to host this event at the Imaginarium, and we hope that you can join us… these letters will be “Write on Time!”
